About
Dr. Yaklic is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Department Obstetrics & Gynecology at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Dr. Yaklic also serves as the President of Wright State Physicians.
Dr. Yaklic has been a fulltime faculty member of Wright State University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1996. He is board certified in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. His research interests include urogynecology, pelvic reconstructive surgery, pelvic pain, incontinence, pelvic prolapse, contraception and pre-term labor.
Dr. Yaklic serves as advisor and mentor for residents and medical students on a wide variety of projects, some of which have included continuous local anesthetic after cesarean delivery, surgical site infection after cesarean delivery, contraception counseling practices in the Emergency Department, delayed pushing, a physician opinion survey on ACOG guidelines, hypertension in pregnancy, preeclampsia biomarkers, and infant mortality.
Dr. Yaklic has served as the Principal Investigator for industry sponsored clinical trials on endometriosis, fibroids, and preterm labor. He has also served as a Sub-Investigator on industry sponsored clinical trials for endometriosis, fibroids, and female sterilization. Dr. Yaklic is the Principal Investigator for the American Urogynecology Society Quality Improvement Outcomes Network (QI-ORN) grant that was created to establish quality metrics for the field of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Current QI-ORN projects include quality in urinary incontinence surgery and quality in pelvic prolapse surgery.
Dr. Yaklic actively collaborates with faculty in other Departments at Wright State University as well as faculty at other Universities. He currently works with Tom Brown, PhD on their biomarkers for preeclampsia project, with Norma Adragna, PhD on her nanomaterials projects, and Jim Nicholson, MD (Pennsylvania State University) on projects related to labor induction and stillbirth.
