About

John Duby, MD, FAAP, CPE is Professor and Chair, Department of Pediatrics at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and Vice President of Academic Affairs and Community Health at Dayton Children’s Hospital. He oversees all pediatric medical education and research activities, including medical student clerkships and electives, the WSU-WPAFB integrated pediatric residency, and pediatric experiences for residents in other specialties. He mentors and supports pediatric faculty in their education and research activities at WSU and Dayton Children’s Hospital. He supports career planning for medical students interested in pediatrics and link medical students with pediatric faculty for research opportunities. He is a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Dayton Children’s Hospital with executive responsibility for the newly formed Center for Community Health and Advocacy, which includes primary care, specialized services for children in foster and kinship care, children with medical complexity, children with developmental and behavioral concerns, and all community engagement activities. He provides leadership for medical education and research activities and partners with hospital leadership in advancing strategic priorities for health care transformation, employee and physician engagement, and the patient and family experience. His clinical work is in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, and he has led several quality improvement initiatives focused on enhancing developmental and mental health services in pediatric primary care.
