About

Thirunarayan joined Wright State University after receiving a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1989. His doctoral dissertation is entitled "The Semantics of Inheritance Networks." He also has an M.E. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore (1984), and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras (1982). His research interests are in Semantic Social and Sensor Data Analytics, Web 3.0, Information Retrieval/Extraction, Semantics of Trust. His teaching interests are in Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, and Programming Languages: Design, Specification, and Implementation.
Recently, Thirunarayan won 2007-2008 College of Engineering and Computer Science Outstanding Faculty Award, 2011 Indian International Conference on AI Achievement Award, and 2011 Fritz J. Russ Award from Dayton Section of the IEEE.
