About
Tanvi Banerjee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Wright State University. Her research involves multimodal data fusion, machine learning, computer vision, and mobile healthcare technologies. Before joining WSU, Dr. Banerjee was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and a Research Assistant Professor in the Kno.e.sis center at Wright State University. During her postdoc, she contributed to the NIH-funded Depression project to understand the role of social media and patient forum data for healthcare management in the domain of major depressive disorder. Currently, she is the primary investigator on an NIH K01 funded project on dementia management using wearable sensors and smartphone technology. She is also a co-investigator in the NIH R01 funded Asthma Management project. Her research lies in the intersection of machine learning and chronic disease management.
Dr. Banerjee received her Master's degree and her Ph.D. from University of Missouri in 2014. From 2008 to 2014, as a member of CERT (Center for Eldercare and Rehabilitation Technology), she worked as a research assistant and a graduate instructor for the NSF HCC project. Her PhD thesis focuses on the detection of activities of daily living and sedentary behavior patterns in older adults using depth imagery.
