Abstract

The measurement of individual performance in the workplace is vital to several important practical and research objectives. It frequently provides the basis for compensation and promotion decisions. Performance measures also serve as criteria for assessing the validity of personnel selection and placement programs, evaluating the effectiveness of training treatments, and determining the usefulness of job redesign efforts.
