Abstract
Educators have found that replacing lectures with team-based learning (TBL) relates to improved academic performance. However, much remains unknown about how and why TBL works. Currently, we are examining the relationship between leadership in TBL and decision-making quality, positing that shared-leadership and decision-making quality are processes through which TBL enhances academic performance.
