Abstract

The concept of a high-order, broadband THz bandpass filter is realized by a complementary, multi-layer metamaterial structure. A bandpass filter was designed, fabricated, and tested over a continuous range of frequencies up to 0.7 THz. The good agreement between experimental results and theoretical predictions validates the proposed THz filter. Comparison with existing monolayer, frequency-selective bandpass-filter designs shows a substantial improvement in the filter skirts and the out-of-band rejection.
