Abstract
A method for determining the parity (odd or even) of the convergent-beam electron diffraction Laue zone has been used to generate example tables for several types of lattice. The method consists of determining from the extinction conditions the possible parities of the plane indices and subsequently using these parities to find the parity of the Laue zone for a given set of diffraction zone indices. Parities for FCC, BCC, HCP and several specific systems are predicted successfully using this approach. Parities for any lattice may be predicted using the method and tables presented.
