Abstract

The article presents a study on the development of transcendent leadership within a leadership substitutes framework. The researchers proposed several substitutes that have the possibility of replacing the influence of a leader on subordinate and organizational performance. They added that companies with a social dimension to their value proposition will not depend on the ability of strategic leaders to lead at the societal level to fulfill their responsibilities to stakeholders. They found that transcendent leadership offers a metaphor that can help people move closer to a world where human talents and energies will be optimized for the betterment of all.
