Writing Assessment Literacy: What Teachers Need to Know

Research output: Contribution to conferencePresentation

Abstract

In the quest for accountability in writing assessment, teachers might sometimes overlook those to whom we should first be accountable: our students. Providing students with clear, accessible, and understandable writing assessment materials promotes accountability. Teachers, therefore, need to develop assessment literacy. This presentation will outline the necessary assessment knowledge and tools that second language writing teachers must acquire and offers ways in which teachers can capably serve students via best practices in writing assessment.
